Social Distortion

Descendents is a long-running American punk band that began in 1977 in Manhattan Beach, California, rooted in brisk pop hooks and surf-leaning speed before sharpening into melodic hardcore. The core lineup has remained stable since the mid-1980s, centered on vocalist Milo Aukerman with Bill Stevenson, Stephen Egerton, and Karl Alvarez.

The Chats are an Australian punk trio formed in 2016 on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, anchored by vocalist/bassist Eamon Sandwith with guitarist Josh Hardy and drummer Matt Boggis. They frame their stripped-back sound as “shed rock,” with songs that document everyday Australian routines and rough humor.

Social Distortion is a punk-rooted rock group known for folding rockabilly, blues, and country inflections into a hard-driving songcraft. Their 1990 major-label debut widened their sound and brought broader attention to the band’s melodic edge and narrative instincts.
