About This Event

During her residency week at The Stone at The New School, Selendis leads a TRIO drawing on her range as a vibraphone and trombone player. She is joined by Nick Saia on guitar and Orchid McRae on drum set. The format is characteristic of The Stone's stripped-down approach: close listening, no stage lighting, and a focus on ensemble conversation rather than spectacle. The combination of mallet percussion, trombone, guitar, and drums gives the group an unusual timbral footprint that sits across free jazz and experimental chamber music.
