    About This Event

The Brooklyn Youth Chorus, directed by Dianne Berkun Menaker, and conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos perform Home Alone In Concert at David Geffen Hall. The chorus brings trained young voices and a focus on vocal education; Kitsopoulos's work with orchestras and opera companies brings orchestral and operatic conducting experience to the collaboration.

    About Home Alone(film_score)

First released in 1990, *Home Alone* follows eight-year-old Kevin McCallister as he’s left behind for the holidays and turns his house into a homemade defense system when two burglars arrive. In New York, the score is heard live at David Geffen Hall and Kings Theatre, with conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos, the New York Philharmonic, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus under director Dianne Berkun Menaker. John Williams’s music treats slapstick with serious craft, a rare case where orchestral writing sharpens the comedy instead of softening it. The film’s later New York sequel helped fold the franchise into the city’s seasonal calendar.
