Sleepy & Boo at Off the Record
About This Event
Sleepy & Boo, a New York City–based electronic duo and DJ team, appear at ARTSPACE for Sleepy & Boo at Off the Record. They present a set built around electronic textures and steady rhythmic control, prioritizing pacing and clean transitions and attending to how a room changes from one track to the next. Their performances favor structure over spectacle, letting sound design and timing carry the narrative.
About Off the Record
“Off the Record” arrives at ARTSPACE as a live electronic set rather than the Canadian sports talk program of the same name that ran for years on TSN. In New York, the title reads like a prompt: what gets said when the room is dark, the beat is steady, and speech gives way to signal. Featuring Sleepy & Boo on DJ duties, the event treats the club as a listening space with its own codes and etiquette. Its quiet point is cultural as much as musical, mapping how nightlife functions as informal public discourse in the city.
