It follows Veronica Sawyer as she is pulled into the rulebook of a high-school clique and the moral fallout that follows. After early development in Los Angeles, the show reached New York in an Off-Broadway run in 2014, adding a sharp, pop-driven entry to the city’s tradition of subversive youth narratives. Now playing at New World Stages, it treats teen cruelty as a social system rather than a phase.
