Giulia is a world-premiere musical at the Perelman Performing Arts Center written by and featuring Grammy Award winner Jennifer Nettles, directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman (Metamorphoses). Inspired by the true story of Giulia Tofana, a 17th-century Palermitan woman accused of poisoning hundreds of men, the show follows how one act of self-defense ripples into a secret sisterhood and a cascade of casualties. The production pairs a contemporary score with a story about survival, complicity, and the cost of safety.
