About Yoko Miwa

Yoko Miwa is a jazz pianist and bandleader known for her work with the Yoko Miwa Trio. Born in Kobe, Japan, she studied at Osaka College of Music and Koyo Conservatory before continuing at Berklee College of Music, where she now teaches. In New York City, she brings her trio to Dizzy’s Club, sometimes adding guests such as vocalist Mikayla Shirley. Her performances favor clarity over spectacle, built on a working-band feel and a steady command of repertoire.
