Torture is a New York City–based group working between Rock/Pop structures and freer improvisation. They are a recurring presence at Baker Falls, including sets billed as the Torture & the Desert Spiders Residency, alongside appearances tied to The Idiot’s Hour and Sunday Scaries Singalongs. Their circle of collaborators includes the Desert Spiders, Nate Livingston, Koi, Posterboy, Beaven Waller, and Nowhere Girls. The performances favor volatility over polish, with songs that can open into extended, communal noise.
