Tom Carter: Singer-Songwriter in New York

About Tom Carter

Tom Carter is a guitarist whose work moves between rock/pop structures and the looser logic of improvised music. In New York City he appears in club settings like Pianos, often on bills that place downtown experimentation beside straightforward band formats. He has performed with artists and projects including Tough Darling, Ty Varesi, and Loren Connors, as well as the duo setting Tom Carter & Loren Connors. His playing favors patience and economy, letting small shifts in tone and rhythm carry the set.
