Todd Rundgren: Jazz Musician in New York

About Todd Rundgren

Todd Rundgren is an American musician, songwriter, and producer whose work moves easily between jazz vocabulary and pop-song craft, with a long history in bands including Nazz and Utopia as well as solo projects. He is associated with New York City stages such as the Iridium, where he has appeared in programs linking his material to composers like Milton Nascimento, Egberto Gismonti, and Frank Zappa. Rundgren’s practice extends beyond performance into studio production and media experiments, including early uses of computer and online tools. His approach favors formal curiosity over genre boundaries.
