Thanksgiving: Jazz Musician in New York

About Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a jazz artist heard at Dizzy’s Club in New York City, where the project “Thanksgiving with Herlin Riley” places the drummer’s ensemble at the center. The name nods to Vince Guaraldi’s “Thanksgiving Theme,” first written for the 1973 Peanuts television special and later preserved through multiple recorded versions. In performance, the material is treated as a set of recognizable motifs rather than a fixed score. The approach favors clarity over spectacle, leaving room for rhythmic conversation and small shifts in color.
