    About Ted Nash

Ted Nash is a jazz saxophonist, flutist, and composer with deep roots in a working musician’s family, shaped by the studio and bandstand traditions of his father, trombonist Dick Nash, and his uncle, saxophonist Ted Nash. In New York, he has been a familiar presence at Jazz at Lincoln Center, serving for years in the Wynton Marsalis-led orchestra until 2024. He also helped found the Jazz Composers Collective, extending his work as an arranger and writer. His playing favors structure and detail over display, whether leading the Ted Nash Big Band or appearing at Dizzy’s Club.
