T. K. Blue: Jazz Musician in New York

About T. K. Blue

T. K. Blue is a New York City–based jazz saxophonist and flautist, also known as a composer and educator. Raised in an Afro-Caribbean household with Jamaican and Trinidadian roots, he threads those rhythmic and melodic languages through modern jazz settings. His work has included long-running collaborations and leadership roles, notably as musical director for Randy Weston, alongside projects with artists such as Don Cherry, Jayne Cortez, and Dollar Brand. At The Django with the T.K. Blue Quartet, his sets favor structure and dialogue, moving between straight-ahead forms and fusion-leaning textures.
