Sylvie Courvoisier is a Swiss-born composer, pianist, and improviser who has lived in New York City since 1998, working at the intersection of free jazz and experimental forms. As a bandleader, she builds sets that move between written material and open-ended interplay, with an ear for structure inside volatility. Her work has been recognized with Germany’s International Jazz Piano Prize and later major awards in Switzerland and the U.S. In NYC she appears at The Jazz Gallery, including performances with drummer Alden Hellmuth.
