About St. John's Red Storm Mens Basketball
St. John’s Red Storm men’s basketball represents St. John’s University in Queens and competes in the Big East, a conference it helped establish. The program sits among the NCAA’s winningest Division I teams, with a long tournament record that includes Final Four runs in 1952 and 1985 and a return to March play as the 2025 Big East tournament champion. In New York City, the Red Storm bring their home dates to Madison Square Garden, facing conference rivals such as Marquette, Seton Hall, Butler, UConn, and Xavier. Under coach Rick Pitino, the team’s identity leans toward disciplined structure over showmanship.
