Snail Mail is the indie-rock project led by guitarist and songwriter Lindsey Jordan, who began performing under the name as a teenager and first drew notice with early self-released recordings before moving into full-length albums on Matador. The songs center on plainspoken emotional detail, carried by clean guitar lines and pop-minded structures. Live, the emphasis is on direct delivery rather than spectacle. In the New York area, Snail Mail has appeared on bills at venues including Brooklyn Paramount and Starland Ballroom, often alongside peers like Soccer Mommy.
