About Sant Andreu Jazz Band

Sant Andreu Jazz Band is a Barcelona-based youth ensemble led by educator and bassist Joan Chamorro, with musicians ranging from early childhood to young adulthood. Built as a training band, it draws on big band and swing traditions, with room for Brazilian-inflected jazz in its book. In New York City, the group has appeared at Dizzy’s Club, including performances with special guest Paul Nedzela on baritone saxophone and clarinet. Their sets favor ensemble discipline and clear section work over showmanship.
