Robyn Hitchcock is an English songwriter and multi-instrumentalist associated with late-’70s guitar pop, first gaining notice as the leader of the Soft Boys before building a long-running solo catalogue. His work draws on jangle pop and neo-psychedelic rock, often built around voice and guitar, with sidesteps into harmonica, piano, and bass. In the New York area he appears at White Eagle Hall, and he has also shared bills with Australian-born songwriter Emma Swift at Berlin. His performances tend to favor directness and narrative detail over spectacle.
