Other Desert Cities: Theater Company in New York

About Other Desert Cities

Other Desert Cities is the Broadway production of Jon Robin Baitz’s play, which began Off-Broadway in 2011 and later moved to Midtown with performances at New York City’s Hudson Theatre. The work centers on a family split by politics and memory, as a long-suppressed episode surfaces during a holiday visit. It arrived on Broadway as a notable step in Baitz’s stage career and went on to be recognized in major U.S. drama awards conversation. The staging favors close listening and ensemble tension over theatrical display.
