Mineral: Hip-Hop Group in New York

About Mineral

Mineral is an American rock group that emerged from Houston and helped shape the emo and post-hardcore currents of the 1990s. Their recorded output was brief but influential, with two albums that remain touchstones for the midwest emo and math-rock-leaning end of the genre. In New York City, their connection runs through the Mercury Lounge, including appearances tied to vocalist and guitarist Chris Simpson. The songwriting favors restraint and precision over spectacle, with dynamics that build from quiet tension to release.
