Lonnie Holley: Broadway Performer in New York

About Lonnie Holley

Lonnie Holley is an American musician and visual artist whose practice grew out of self-taught methods and long-term work with found materials, including assemblage environments and carved forms. His art has been shown widely, from major museums in the South to institutions in New York such as the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As a performer, he brings the same improvisatory logic to music, often treating the voice as a narrative instrument rather than a fixed song form. In New York City, he appears at Town Hall for Performa Live On Broadway, alongside artists including serpentwithfeet and Slauson Malone 1.
