    About Latin Music: Son Montuno

Latin Music: Son Montuno is a group working at the intersection of rock/pop framing and Afro-Cuban son traditions. In New York City, they have appeared with Groupmuse NYC, bringing small-room focus to repertoire often associated with larger bandstands. Their programs include “Latin Music: Son Montuno presents Buena Vista Social Club Tribute,” alongside related Son Montuno projects. The playing favors groove and ensemble discipline over display, with attention to dance-floor pulse and layered percussion.
