About Khemmis

Khemmis is a Denver-based doom metal band formed in 2012, named after an ancient Egyptian city. Their sound draws from classic heavy metal’s melodic sense while leaning into slower tempos, low tunings, and the weight of doom, with darker accents from extreme metal. They’ve moved from early independent releases to work issued in partnership with larger metal labels, including a worldwide debut with Nuclear Blast in 2021. In New York City, they’ve brought that measured, riff-driven approach to bills at Elsewhere alongside acts like Monolord and End It.
