Justin Poindexter: Jazz Musician in New York

About Justin Poindexter

Justin Poindexter is a jazz artist heard in New York City settings such as Dizzy’s Club. He has collaborated with pianist Jason Yeager, including a Dizzy’s program honoring bassist Bill Crow and drummer Steve Little, drawing on repertoire and arrangements associated with the Gerry Mulligan orbit of the 1950s and 1960s. Poindexter works inside the tradition rather than treating it as a museum piece. His performances favor line, time, and ensemble balance over display.
