Jessie Reyez: Hip-Hop Artist in New York

About Jessie Reyez

Jessie Reyez is a Canadian singer-songwriter working at the crossroads of hip-hop and R&B. She first drew wide attention with “Figures,” later earning Juno recognition for the EP *Kiddo* and again for *Being Human in Public*, which also brought a Grammy nomination in the urban contemporary field. Her writing tends to foreground direct, unsanded emotion and conversational detail, with performances that favor clarity over spectacle. In New York City, she brings that approach to stages like Barclays Center on tours such as *A Little Vengeance*.
