About Janis Siegel
Janis Siegel is an American jazz vocalist known for her long-running work with the vocal group The Manhattan Transfer, with additional credits as a solo and ensemble singer. In New York City she appears at Dizzy’s Club, where her program “The Art of Vocalese” traces the practice of fitting lyrics to improvised instrumental lines. Her background in close-harmony singing and studio-level precision informs how she phrases and blends onstage. Her performances favor clarity and rhythmic exactness over spectacle.
