Jake Shears: Broadway Performer in New York

About Jake Shears

Jake Shears is an American singer, songwriter, and actor with deep ties to New York City stages, first widely known as a co-lead vocalist of the NYC-rooted band Scissor Sisters. After the group’s 2000s success and later hiatus, he moved into solo work, releasing albums in 2018 and 2023 while continuing to write and collaborate. He made his Broadway debut in *Kinky Boots* and brings that theatrical grounding to musical theater engagements at venues like Studio 54. His performances tend to favor character and rhythmic precision over vocal display.
