Iceblink / Crying Laughing / Jeff Tobias: Singer-Songwriter in New York

About Iceblink / Crying Laughing / Jeff Tobias

Iceblink, Crying Laughing, and Jeff Tobias appear in New York City club lineups as intersecting names rather than a single fixed project, often sharing the stage at Pianos. Tobias is a New York–based musician who has also turned up on bills at the same venue alongside groups like Pink Must Animal and Surrender, and he plays with Stereo Mandrax. The Crying Laughing moniker nods, in name, to the phrasing of Labi Siffre’s 1972 album *Crying Laughing Loving Lying*. The work tends to favor direct rock/pop forms and an unadorned, band-forward presentation over spectacle.
