    About Hamilton de Holanda The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

    Hamilton de Holanda The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is a collaboration between Brazilian bandolim player Hamilton de Holanda and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra under Wynton Marsalis. Rooted in jazz, the project draws on de Holanda’s Latin Grammy–recognized work in choro and his ongoing engagement with Moacir Santos’s repertoire. At Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, the ensemble places Brazilian rhythmic language inside the orchestra’s big-band architecture. The performances favor precision and dialogue between solo voice and section writing over spectacle.
