Gayance is the performance name of Montreal producer and DJ Aïsha Vertus, whose work moves through electronic music with clear ties to hip-hop/R&B and pop structures. Raised in Montreal-Nord, she developed an ear for hybrid, community-driven sounds that carry into both her recordings and live sets. Her album *Mascarade* was shortlisted for Canada’s Polaris Music Prize in 2023. In New York City she has appeared at Public Records, sharing bills with Love Injection, Gigi Testa, and others; her performances favor precision and flow over spectacle.
