About Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa was an American composer, guitarist, and bandleader whose work moved between jazz, rock, orchestral writing, and studio experiment. He released an extensive catalog across band projects and solo records, often treating performance as a site for improvisation, precision, and satire. In New York City, his music is heard in venue programs such as sets at the Iridium, where it has been placed alongside Brazilian repertoire associated with Milton Nascimento and Egberto Gismonti. His approach favors compositional complexity over genre boundaries.
