About EMEFE

EMEFE is a New York–based group working at the crossroads of jazz, funk, and brass-band tradition. Their shows at Nublu place them in the city’s late-night ecosystem, where tight arrangements and street-band propulsion can share the same room. On bills with Brass Queens, including “EMEFE and Brass Queens,” they move between ensemble precision and open-ended groove. The playing favors rhythmic architecture over spectacle, with horns used as both melody and engine.
