Chris Simpson: Hip-Hop Artist in New York

About Chris Simpson

Chris Simpson is a Houston-bred singer and songwriter whose work sits between rock and pop, with roots in the emo scene through his role in Mineral. He appears in New York City at the Mercury Lounge for performances billed as Chris Simpson (of Mineral), drawing on material linked to the band’s brief but influential 1990s run. Mineral released two albums before first dissolving, leaving a catalog that later audiences continued to revisit. Onstage, Simpson’s delivery tends toward directness and emotional precision rather than display.
