About California Guitar Trio

California Guitar Trio is an acoustic–electric ensemble formed in Los Angeles in 1991, shaped by the New Standard Tuning practices associated with Robert Fripp’s Guitar Craft. The group began with guitarists Paul Richards, Bert Lams, and Hideyo Moriya; current performances pair Richards and Lams with Chapman Stick player Tom Griesgraber. Their work moves between tight, notated precision and open-ended tonal exploration, using guitars as both rhythmic and orchestral instruments. In New York City they appear at Iridium for a live jazz set.
