Blawan is the stage name of Jamie Roberts, an English DJ and producer from South Yorkshire whose early releases on Hessle Audio helped define his move into lean, percussive club music. His catalogue includes the widely circulated cut “Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage?” and a noted rework of Radiohead’s “Bloom” for the TKOL RMX project. He also collaborates in the hardware-focused project Karenn with fellow R&S affiliate Pariah. In New York City, he brings his live set to Good Room, sharing the bill with Emsho and Ike Release; the approach favors physical rhythm over polish.
