About Bang on a Can All-Stars
Bang on a Can All-Stars is an amplified chamber ensemble that emerged in 1992 through the Bang on a Can organization, built to play new music with the punch and control of a band. Their repertoire moves through minimalism, contemporary classical, and more exploratory work, often shaped by close ties to composer-performers. In New York City they appear at Roulette, including Long Play Festival programs alongside artists such as David Lang, David Longstreth, Michael Brook, Contemporaneous, and work by Morton Feldman. The group’s performances tend to favor precision and sustained attention over spectacle.
