About Atsuko Hashimoto - Celebrating Jimmy Heath

Atsuko Hashimoto is an Osaka-born jazz organist known for her work on the Hammond B-3 in organ-trio and organ-quartet settings, with five albums to her credit. She has performed in Japan and the United States and appears in New York City at Dizzy’s Club. In this program, she joins drummer Akira Tana and the Osaka Quartet to honor the repertory of saxophonist and composer Jimmy Heath. Her playing favors line and swing over display, keeping the organ’s weight in service of the ensemble.
