Alexandre Kautz Quartet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Alexandre Kautz Quartet

The Alexandre Kautz Quartet is a jazz ensemble heard in New York City rooms such as Smalls Jazz Club, where the group appears under its own name. Led by drummer Alexandre Kautz, the quartet works in a small-band format that keeps tempo and texture in the foreground. Their sets favor close listening, with arrangements that leave space for individual lines to surface without breaking the group’s pulse. The approach is disciplined rather than showy, built around ensemble balance and clear time.
