Abbatya: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Abbatya

Abbatya is a jazz group heard in New York City rooms where the line between stage and floor stays close, including sets at Nublu. Their work often moves through shared bills with Drinkabir, Meltykyss, and Bus Boy, tying them to a network of improvisers and small-venue audiences. The group favors ensemble listening and quick shifts in texture over showy display. In performance, the emphasis is on groove and interaction, with solos treated as part of the conversation rather than the destination.
