About A Century of Jazz
A Century of Jazz is an individual jazz artist presented at New York City’s Dizzy’s Club. The project centers on historically grounded repertoire and arrangements, including programs that trace the Gerry Mulligan circle and its emphasis on counterpoint and ensemble transparency. In the set “A Century of Jazz: Bill Crow and Steve Little,” the group brings bassist Bill Crow together with pianist Jason Yeager and leader Justin Poindexter in a focused tribute to Crow and drummer Steve Little. The performances favor clear lines and timekeeping over display.
