Yuval Chen: Singer-Songwriter in New York

About Yuval Chen

Yuval Chen is an individual artist whose programs at Groupmuse NYC place the piano tradition in a clear historical line, moving from Bach through Liszt, Debussy, Scriabin, and Ravel. His repertoire often treats Bach’s contrapuntal writing as a reference point, then follows later composers as they stretch form, harmony, and color. Chen’s approach favors structure and transparency over display, keeping changes in texture and sonority sharply defined. In New York City, his appearances have centered on intimate listening-room settings that suit this kind of close-grained playing.
