Genesis: Rock Band in New York

About Genesis

Genesis is an English rock group founded in 1967 by schoolmates in Surrey, later shaping the language of progressive and art rock through the 1970s. Their most documented classic-era personnel included Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Phil Collins, and guitarist Steve Hackett. The band’s catalog moves between long-form, keyboard-driven suites and tighter pop structures, with an approach that favors arrangement and narrative over flash. In New York City, their music remains a reference point on stages like Town Hall, including programs such as Steve Hackett’s *Best Of Genesis & Solo Gems Tour*.
