About Kenny Wollensen
Kenny Wollensen is a drummer whose work moves between modern jazz ensembles and genre-crossing projects, with a long record of high-profile collaborations. In New York City, he appears at Town Hall with the Julian Lage Quartet alongside John Medeski on keyboards and bassist Jorge Roeder, supporting Lage’s guitar-centered writing with a flexible, detailed pulse. Wollensen’s playing favors momentum and color over display, shaping grooves that leave room for melody and harmonic shifts. His profile also reflects wide reach beyond jazz audiences.
