About Jorge Roeder
Jorge Roeder is a Peruvian bassist and composer whose work moves between jazz and Latin jazz vocabulary. In New York City, he appears at Town Hall as part of the Julian Lage Quartet, joining guitarist Julian Lage with John Medeski on keyboards and Kenny Wollensen on drums. Roeder’s résumé includes collaborations with artists such as Gary Burton, Nels Cline, and John Zorn, and his work with the Julian Lage Group contributed to a Grammy-nominated contemporary jazz album. His playing favors structure and detail over display, anchoring ensembles with quiet precision.
