Richard Thompson: Singer-Songwriter in New York

About Richard Thompson

Richard Thompson is an English songwriter, guitarist, and producer whose work bridges rock, pop, and folk traditions. Across decades he has appeared on hundreds of recordings, balancing a substantial solo catalog with live documents and wide-ranging collaborations. His songwriting favors narrative detail and dry wit, and his guitar playing is often precise rather than showy. In New York City he brings Richard Thompson & Band to Town Hall, a room that suits his direct, song-centered approach.
