Fellow Travelers – 10th Anniversary: Opera Company in New York

About Fellow Travelers – 10th Anniversary

Fellow Travelers – 10th Anniversary marks a decade since the opera’s first run, returning in concert at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) in New York City. The program centers on Gregory Spears and Greg Pierce’s score and libretto, shaped by the sound world of contemporary American opera and the pressures of mid-century Washington. The performers approach the piece as an ensemble drama, with the text driving the pacing and musical emphasis. The result favors direct storytelling over theatrical display, letting the political stakes register through voices and harmonies.
