Brian Simontacchi Sextet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Brian Simontacchi Sextet

The Brian Simontacchi Sextet is a New York City jazz ensemble led by saxophonist Brian Simontacchi, heard on stages such as Smalls Jazz Club. The group’s book leans on Simontacchi’s writing alongside small-band repertory, with an emphasis on ensemble blend and clear melodic lines. Their appearances have intersected with bassist, composer, and educator Matt Dwonszyk, billed both under his own name and with the Matt Dwonszyk Quintet within the same downtown scene. The sextet’s performances favor structure and interplay over display.
