David Rourke: Jazz Musician in New York

About David Rourke

David Rourke is a New York City–based jazz artist whose work is often heard at Smalls Jazz Club, a room that rewards close listening and quick rapport. He leads the David Rourke Quartet, shaping sets around small-group interplay and steady rhythmic direction. The project sits in the working tradition of NYC bandleading, where arrangements are flexible and the night’s lineup matters. His performances favor clarity over spectacle, with solos that develop patiently and return to the tune’s core.
