Ken Fowser Quartet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Ken Fowser Quartet

The Ken Fowser Quartet is a New York City–based hard-bop group led by tenor saxophonist Ken Fowser, heard regularly in late-night rooms including Smalls Jazz Club. Fowser is also known for leading larger working bands under his name, including the Ken Fowser Quintet and Sextet. In the quartet format, the repertoire moves between originals and standards, with concise written passages used to set up open improvisation. The playing tends to favor clean melodic line and structure over display.
