Ivan Polyanskiy Quartet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Ivan Polyanskiy Quartet

Ivan Polyanskiy Quartet is a New York City–based jazz group heard in the close room at Smalls Jazz Club. Led by saxophonist Ivan Polyanskiy, the band works in the small-group tradition, building sets around quick cues, shifting grooves, and patient development. The quartet has shared bills and personnel with pianist and bandleader Anthony Wonsey in Quintet and Quartet settings, connecting it to a broader downtown network of working bands. Their performances favor conversation over display, letting the tune’s structure carry the improvising.
